The PTEV site plan has been developed with permaculture principles in mind: care for the earth, care for each other and share the surplus. It seeks to preserve ecologically important features like the existing forest on the SW corner and 3 acres of productive agricultural land throughout. Clusters of housing circling the central Common House have been placed to foster small neighborhoods while maximizing opportunities for passive solar access for dwellings, greenhouses and other common structures. Trails throughout will encourage connections, and keeping most of the parking in one lot will facilitate the sharing of cars to conserve resources. Although the current site plan shows the maximum amount of ground floor development for housing , the exact position, shape and size of each dwelling has not been determined and will depend on permits from the city and our design process. The specifics will evolve as we gain experience over time.
